|I'm extremely picky about pictures of German Shepherds, so often they have such a generic look, with no personality. The Moon Glow is exceptional. Somehow it captures the mystery and gentleness of the breed. It will hang in a place of honor!!|
Dogs are able to see much better in dim light than humans are. This is due to the tapetum lucidum, a light-reflecting layer behind the retina. Because it functions like a mirror, it also accounts for the strange shine or glow in a dog's eyes at night.
Giclee (pronounced "gee-clay") is a French word meaning "a spraying of ink". Giclle prints have many advantages over both offset lithography and seriographs (screen prints). Giclee prints have a higher apparent resolution than lithographs and the dynamic color range is greater than seriography.
The printing technique utilizes microscopically fine droplets of ink to form the image. A print can consist of nearly 20 billion ink droplets. This unique feature produces a near continuous tone image, smoother gradation between tones and a more finely differentiated color palette.
It is often very difficult to distinguish the giclee from the original painting.
